Brandon’s listening to “The Final Countdown” in the background and I’m sitting here like… AIN’T THAT THE TRUTH!
*And for the record I hope that when anyone who went to Oak Canyon in junior high hears The Final Countdown they still think of track and the glorious Alpine Days… I know I do. Who’d want to forget junior high?! ha ha ha
2 days until my final final.
3 days until graduation.
2 weeks until my last Conference championships.
1 month until the NCAA’s.
Boom baby. That’s exciting.
In other news, teaching is a hilarious profession. I’m subbing right now to make some “big bucks” while I wait to make even more millions of dollars in August at Provo. One of the funniest things about me personally teaching is the fact that I look 16. I’m little, I have a slightly baby face, and I really do just look 16.
To add to the awesomeness I wear a backpack every day when I go teach because let’s be honest, I’m just not a purse person. Never have been, never will be! But I need to keep my snacks with me because I get very HANGRY and I also just really like eating so I take my backpack when I teach. As I walk the halls some students run into me and run around me and act like normal high schoolers. It’s hilarious to hear the things they say because they don’t realize that I’m an “adult”.
I also love when an office aide, admin, or anyone else comes to the class to drop things off. They always look around with a kind of confused look. I’m usually sitting by the desk or standing in front of the class and it takes them a minute to realize I’m the teacher. I usually just say “Oh, I’m the teacher, don’t worry”. I can’t tell if it makes students think I’m cooler than I actually am or if it gives me more classroom management issues. Either way it makes me laugh.
Here’s to my final countdown at UVU!
