This Is Us anybody??! I saw this title ^^ on a tshirt and LOVED it! It’s not mine, but I loved it. But I put quotes around it, so that counts as not plagiarizing, right?
Um, I love This Is Us. I thought I loved Jess in Gilmore Girls but man, Jack is just a hero!! That show gets me EVERY. TIME. So good.
Anyways….I thought I’d do a little update on what we are up to!
School. Work. School. Work. School. Work. All day, errrry day!!
Brandon is in his second semester at BYU and is rocking it! This semester has been really busy for him and he pretty much stays up until midnight every night reading adorably nerdy science articles. He is such a good student and I’m proud of him for all the work he’s putting in! This semester he finishes his last lab rotation and then will pick the lab he’ll be in for the next 4 years.
Usually to help him see how smart I am I’ll remind him the one thing I remember from all my science classes. I’ll come up to him while he’s reading and say, “Hey B…. I don’t know if you’ve learned this yet but….. the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell”. I couldn’t tell you what that exactly means, but you bet I can tell you that hey, the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell. #thanks8thgradebiology. Anyways, I love how much he loves what he’s doing and even though I can’t understand more than two words in his papers, I’m happy he’s loving it!
So that’s pretty much what Brandon does everyday. He goes to class, TA’s classes, works in the lab, and then comes home and reads! What a rockstar.
As for me, I am still REAAALLLLY busy, and that’s ok for now! I’m still teaching social studies and I really love it. This semester I have a student teacher and she is rocking it! It makes me a little sad though because I love my students ha ha and I miss them. The last few days I’ve been sitting in this closet office thing and I realized [again] my ADHD really is a thing, ha ha. I’m sure I’ll get the hang of what to do in the day but it’s been a good blessing so far.
I’m also still coaching! It’s currently basketball season and it is sooooooo nice to be inside [and not out in the cold for track] during this time of year! Though, I am LOVING the sixty degree weather! I know you skiers and snowboarders are upset, but I am definitely not! I love warmth and I’m so glad it’s warm and sooooo glad the sun is coming back! Though this hasn’t been the most “winning” season in the world, our girls have really improved and I love who I coach with and the good times we have.
Aaaaaaannnnndd….. I’m still in school! I feel like people ask me about this on a weekly basis so here’s the down-low. I’m at the U of U earning my MPA degree. I have LOVED this program! It has kicked my little heinie time wise and learning wise but hey, it’s worth it! It’s really been one of the best decisions and I’ve found that I never regret getting more education or working hard for my education.
I promise I will update on infertility and adoption in the coming week or so but for now that’s a little update on what we are doing! Oh…. and here’s a sneak peek at our kitchen and house updates! We got a farmhouse sink and butcher block countertops and new carpet… be still my Joanna Gaines heart! I still have to put up some shiplap [I know, I know #farmhouseproblems] so when we’re all done, we’ll post them!
P.S. Thank you so much for all of your prayers, outreach, potential adoption leads, and donations. We love, love, love you and are so grateful that you are helping us in our journey to grow our family!!
